The Real Estate Academy: South Florida Trek (Spring 2026)

Ever wonder what it’s like to work in real estate and are looking to take the first step? Are you curious about how to focus your UM education toward a career in real estate? If so, apply today for the opportunity to kick off your spring breakand join a cohort of your peers on the Real Estate Academy – South Florida Trek, hosted by the UM Weiser Center for Real Estate, and funded by our
generous donors of the Weiser Center Gift Fund.

We’re selecting a group of undergrads to embark on a multi-day learning experience intended to introduce them to the real estate development ecosystem in South Florida. Students will have a chance to meet and learn from professionals working across the industry. This is also a great opportunity for you to grow your professional and U-M alumni network.

This is an exploratory opportunity, so students at any class level with little to no experience are encouraged to submit an application.

All travel expenses, including transportation, food, and lodging, will be offered at no cost to students thanks to the generosity of our donors.

The program will take place March 1st – March 4th, 2026 in Miami & West Palm Beach, Florida.

Back this Winter 2026 Semester, URP 499/599 Is a Career in Real Estate Right for Me? is featuring a new speaker from a different sector of the industry each week. This innovative class offers students the opportunity to explore the real estate industry from all angles, from a variety of different working professionals. This class is open to all weekly! Coming Thursday, January 29th: Bridgette Moore of Link Logistics Bridgette is Link Logistics’ chief people officer, responsible for leading all aspects of the company’s people strategy, including talent acquisition, employee development, and organizational culture. Bridgette brings more than 20 years of experience driving business performance through people strategy while building and leading high-performing teams in dynamic environments across a variety of industries. Prior to joining Link, she served as chief people officer at Scorpion, where she was responsible for developing the organization’s people strategy, talent acquisition, leadership development, talent management, compensation and benefits, employee relations, and diversity and inclusion efforts. She was previously global chief people officer for The Pharm, a Walgreens Boots Alliance and WPP partnership, in addition to serving in other leadership roles. Bridgette received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Industrial & Organizational Psychology from the University of Michigan. She is a member of the Wall Street Journal CPO Council. She and her husband, John, have a blended family of five children and three dogs. She enjoys reading, traveling, cooking and exercising, and spends most of her time on weekends at her kids’ sports tournaments and music performances.
